The Game Of Life

Verse 1

Getting older, and life around me seems to be making much less sense
Back in the day, permanent smile in a life of no consequence
Go to school, never knowing what to do or just how to fit in
Hide in the corner, hoping further down the line that life would start to begin

Chorus

And I’m balancing my world on the edge of the knife
But I keep my faith that I’ll figure out
The game of life

Verse 2

Years later, pack my bag hit the road and dust up the trail
Find a new home, start my life afresh only to quickly fail
Different people, given trust only for them to betray
Close the door, lost my faith in others so I hide myself away

Chorus

And I’m balancing my world on the edge of the knife
But I keep my faith that I’ll figure out
The game of life

Verse 3

Step outside, took a chance and threw myself into the light of day
Found friendship, they took my hand picked me up and showed me the way
Find a balance, understand from time to time I’m gonna get things wrong
Moving forward, now I’m hoping that I’ve found the place that I belong

Chorus

And I’m balancing my world on the edge of the knife
But I keep my faith that I’ll figure out
The game of life
